Homebuyers in Dodworth are being invited to a special event at Higham Chase to find out about the many ways of buying a brand new home.

On Sunday, October 19, as well as taking a good look at the homes available at the Redrow venture, visitors will be able to talk to a new homes mortgage specialist about their options. They’ll be able to review their finances, assess how much they can afford to borrow and guide them through the buying process.

Patsy Aicken, sales director for Redrow Homes (Yorkshire), said: “We’re inviting buyers to come and take a look at the homes available and while here, they’ll have access to free, impartial advice about Help to Buy, as well as being able to find out more about our own Mastermove scheme which helps those with a property to sell.

“After a quick chat with the financial adviser we’ll be able to tell them what they can afford and they could be pleasantly surprised by the outcome. A Help to Buy equity loan reduces the initial purchase price by 20% and is interest free for the first five year. A deposit of only 5% should be sufficient for people to secure the home of their choice and a 75% mortgage means their payments should be more manageable. All in all it makes a brand new home at Higham Chase a much more affordable dream than people may realise.”

Redrow’s Mastermove scheme has also been popular, allowing existing homeowners to sell up and move on quickly, without fuss or expensive estate agent fees.

Customers who sign up for Mastermove will have their property valued and, once a selling price is agreed, Redrow instructs a local estate agent to market the property on their behalf. Crucially, the housebuilder keeps in regular contact with all parties to ensure the sales process runs quickly and smoothly and they will even pay the estate agent once the sale of the new Redrow home has completed. All it takes is a small deposit of £50, which will be reimbursed upon completion.

Current availability at Higham Chase includes family homes such as the three-bedroom ‘Warwick’, priced from £206,950, and the four-bedroom ‘Shrewsbury’ from £214, 950. There are also some perfect first-time buyer homes on the development with prices starting from £135,950 for a two-bedroom ‘Evesham’. The availability of Help to Buy makes these properties even more attractive.

For example, the initial cost of the Warwick can be reduced to £165,560 using the 20% Help to Buy equity loan and a deposit of £10,348 should be sufficient.

Situated off Higham Lane, in Barnsley, Higham Chase is close to the A628 which connects Dodworth with both Barnsley and Manchester. It’s also within a mile of junction 37 of the M1, providing great access to both the north and south of the country.

The event will take place on Sunday, October 19 from 11am until 4pm.
