The latest offering at Flesh & Buns, the Japanese Fried Chicken (JFC) Festive Feasting Basket aims to bring ‘finger lickin’ holiday cheer to London this Christmas. Designed to share, the JFC Festive Feasting Basket, filled with succulent buttermilk fried chicken, is the perfect alternative for those tired of turkey in the run up to Christmas and New Year. The new dish will be available at Flesh & Buns, Seven Dials, from 8th – 31st December 2014.

While not a typical festive dish in Europe, feasting on fried chicken has been a Christmas tradition in Japan since the mid-seventies. In 1974, fast-food giant KFC introduced its Christmas ‘Party Bucket’, complete with fries and wings, to the discerning Japanese market to bridge a gap during a time when turkey was not available. The Christmas fried chicken frenzy remains a strong tradition and the KFC ‘Party Bucket’ is the most widely-eaten meal in Japan on Christmas Eve.  Now Flesh & Buns brings its mother country’s firm festive favourite to London.

Created by the culinary geniuses at Flesh & Buns, the JFC Festive Feasting Bucket embraces the Japanese holiday tradition with an injection of fun and humour. Each set meal for two includes a steamer basket of buttermilk fried half-chicken, with BBQ mayonnaise and Shichimi sauce, served accompanied by fresh salad and steamed buns,  unassembled for a build-your-own buns dining experience. To follow, indulge in rich, chocolate Yamazaki cake, all washed down with a spiced rum and raspberry hard shake each.

Flesh & Buns will launch the limited edition JFC Festive Feasting Basket on 8th December, and the special will be served throughout the festive season, commencing on 31st December. The set meal for two will be priced at £37.00.
