Sales of riverside apartments are going swimmingly

Ideally situated on the banks of the River Medway, new apartments in Tonbridge are proving popular with 75% of homes sold in the first 18 months.

Redrow launched Waterside Reach off plan in spring 2014. The 196-apartment development has been a great success clocking up a steady sales rate and attracting a mixture of owner-occupiers and buy-to-let investors.

The broad appeal of the homes is attributed to the riverside setting, good local amenities including a premium supermarket and strong commuter links, plus the high specification Redrow offers as standard.

With the apartments selling fast, prospective purchasers keen to own one of the sought-after properties are being urged to act fast to avoid disappointment.

Kerry Jenkins, sales director for Redrow Homes (Eastern), explains: “We knew from the success of our previous developments in Tonbridge that Waterside Reach would be popular and in just 18 months we’ve sold around three quarters of the apartments. The housing market locally remains buoyant and as people have seen the development take shape with residents moving in this has sparked further enquiries from would-be homeowners. We still have a good choice of one and two-bedroom designs available and would encourage anyone looking for an apartment in the Tonbridge area to contact us without delay.”

One-bedroom apartments are available from £208,995; with two-bedroom designs priced from £262,995.

All of the apartments at Waterside Reach fall within the threshold for Help to Buy. The Government backed scheme enables homebuyers with a 5% deposit to defer paying up to 20% of the purchase price by taking out an equity loan. The loan is interest free for five years and can be repaid when the customer has more funds available or when they resell.

The apartments feature open plan layouts that maximise the potential of the space available. Kitchens are well equipped with integrated top brand name appliances, with down lights to kitchen and wet areas; while master bedrooms benefit from fitted wardrobes.

The development also offers secure undercroft parking with some of the properties. For those who want to let the train take the strain, the local station offers journey times to London in around 35 minutes.
