Just a handful of chances remain for property-seekers to own a brand new home in the current phase at Taylor Wimpey’s popular Leybourne Chase development in West Malling, Kent.

Savvy purchasers have been quick to take their pick from the homes available in this sought-after location, and there are now just three plots remaining for sale in the current phase – a pair of two-bedroom ‘Elm’ apartments (plots 503 and 505, each priced £240,000) and the three-bedroom ‘Kemp’ detached house (plot 512, priced £390,000).

Each of these properties is available with the Help to Buy scheme, which enables eligible first-time buyers and those with a property to sell to access a Government loan for up to 20% of their new home’s full price – so they only need a 75% loan-to-value mortgage and a deposit as low as 5%.

This means, for example, that purchasers can secure a two-bedroom apartment at Leybourne Chase with a 5% deposit as low as £12,000.

Susan Joseph, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey, says: “We’re delighted that each of these final properties in the current phase at Leybourne Chase are available with Help to Buy, which means buyers can step on or up the property ladder now without having to save a large deposit.

“What’s more, with a 75% loan-to-value mortgage, they can take advantage of a wider range of more competitive mortgage deals – indeed, those who’ve been renting might find their monthly repayments are less than they were paying in rent!”

Each of the two-bedroom ‘Elm’ apartments currently available at Leybourne Chase features an open-plan kitchen/living/dining room filled with natural light from full-height windows, plus an en-suite master bedroom, a further double bedroom, a family bathroom and storage space off the internal entrance hallway. Outside, the property benefits from allocated parking.

Alternatively, the ‘Kemp’ offers a spacious living/dining room opening through double doors to the private rear garden, plus a kitchen/breakfast room and a guest cloakroom off the entrance hallway. Three bedrooms – one with en-suite facilities – and a family bathroom are found upstairs, while there’s a garage and parking outside.

Help to Buy is available with new-build homes up to the value of £600,000 and there’s no salary cap for purchasers taking advantage of the scheme.

Enjoying a delightful, semi-rural location on the grounds of a former manor house on the outskirts of Leybourne village, near West Malling, Leybourne Chase is a highly desirable new community.

Nearly two-thirds of the development site – some 140 acres – will be preserved as green open space for recreation and leisure, including parks, recreation grounds, fields, children’s playgrounds, sports pitches, footpaths, community allotments and an arboretum.

For commuters, West Malling railway station is just over a mile from the development and provides regular services to London Victoria. Maidstone is only seven miles away by road, while there are also quick links to the M20 for central London.

To stand a chance of securing one of the final plots in Phase 4 at Leybourne Chase with Help to Buy, property-seekers should visit the Sales Information Centre, located off Birling Road, Leybourne, Kent, ME19 5HZ, and open 10am to 5pm, seven days a week, or visit taylorwimpey.co.uk.
