19th August 2020 Print

Chores, everyone hates them but everyone has to do them, avoiding chores whilst easy enough to do will quickly devolve into more mess pilling up, requiring even more chores to be done to get your home clean again. It’s unavoidable, chores sooner or later will need to be done.

So rather than working out how to avoid doing household chores, it is so much easier to try make your chores easier, so today you’ll find out some easy hacks to make your chores in the kitchen easy peasy.

Cut Down Your Washing Up With Foil

Let’s start off with a simple tip to cut down on your washing up, for metal cooking trays you use whilst cooking, rather than putting whatever you’re cooking directly onto the tray, simply just lay down a sheet of foil on your tray, then cook away. Once you’re done, just take off the foil and chuck it away and just like that you’ve reduced your washing up pile.

(If you want to take this to the extreme, you can always put cling film over your plates too meaning you don’t need to wash them, but this is a very extreme scenario)

Easy Wipe Material

Easy wipe material does what it says on the tin, it’s  material that is easily wiped clean. In a kitchen materials that are easy to wipe are a timesaver when it comes to cleaning, this sort of material is usually found on kitchen blinds so if you spill anything on your kitchen blinds you can just wipe it off with a wet cloth.

This  material can be found elsewhere, usually in placemats etc, but taking the time to find things that are easy wipe will save you time when it comes to clean the kitchen.

Get Stains Out Of Your Tupperware

This is a situation familiar to many of us, you cook some beans or tomato soup in the microwave and now your Tupperware has a very orange tinge to it from now until the end of time, it’s hard to get the stains out and it can make it harder to clean your Tupperware. So to get these awful stains out fill your Tupperware up with water, a splash of dish soap and a tiny bit of bleach then microwave for 40 seconds and your Tupperware will be as good as new.

Clean Your Microwave… With your Microwave

Cleaning a microwave is a long, hardtask, it’s not at all quick and not at all easy most of the time. With bits of grime stuck in various corners and crevices, the whole experience is a pain. But there’s a way to make this task so much easier:

Simply get a bowl filled halfway with water, slice a lemon in half squeezing the juice in the bowl, then chuck the lemon halves into the bowl, then microwave the bowl for 3 minutes on high, then leave for 10 minutes.  Once you’ve done this, you should be able to wipe the sides clean with a cloth and your microwave is now cleaned!
