Commercial vehicle sales continue to accelerate at Motorpoint

Motorpoint, the UK’s largest car supermarket, is recording buoyant demand for commercial vehicles following the introduction of the new ’57 registration in September. This mirrors the national trend in the UK, with the light commercial sector recording increased sales compared to the same time in 2006, according to recent figures published by the SMMT.

One company which has taken advantage of the extensive choice and value which Motorpoint is able to offer to business customers, compared to that of the mainstream franchise dealer network, is Nottinghamshire-based electrical engineering contractors, Ian Smith Electrical Ltd, who has bought two brand new Renault Trafic short wheelbase vans from the retailer. This is the ninth year in succession that the company has purchased commercial vehicles from Motorpoint, bringing the total number of vans sourced from the retailer’s Derby site to 40, saving the electrical firm the equivalent of nearly £100,000 off of the original manufacturer listed prices during the last decade.

The new flagship vans, which will join an existing fleet of 35, will be used to transport heavy duty equipment and materials around the UK, as part of a new multi-million pound contract for a major telecommunications company which Ian Smith Electrical has recently won.

Expressing delight at the arrival of the new Renault Trafic vans, Ian Smith, Managing Director of Ian Smith Electrical Ltd, explains: “Motorpoint has always provided outstanding value, and they continue to be the logical choice when it comes to buying new commercial vehicles. As a long term customer, the retailer fully understands our requirements, and coupled with their highly-competitive prices, Motorpoint has become a core component as our business continues to expand.”
