Inaugural Fleet Van Awards launched
A major new event designed to recognise excellence and best practice in the van fleet industry will take place on December 2.
The inaugural Fleet Van Awards is being launched to reflect the growing size and importance of the light commercial vehicle sector and the critical role it plays in keeping British business moving.
Fleet Van, the industry-leading monthly title for commercial vehicle fleet operators, is a sister title to Fleet News, the weekly newspaper for fleet decision-makers.
The readers of Fleet Van are part of a multi-billion pound market that operates more than 3 million vehicles and which is growing to new record levels each year.
The Fleet Van Awards will cover three key categories: Fleet Managers, Fleet Suppliers and Fleet Manufacturers.
The winners in each category will be announced during an evening black tie ceremony, which will take place on December 2 at the National Motorcycle Museum, Birmingham.
It will follow the annual Fleet Van Conference, which takes place at the same venue during the day.

Van fleet manager of the year – public sector
Van fleet manager of the year – general

Van leasing firm of the year
Van rental firm of the year
Tyre provider of the year

Specialist equipment service of the year
Van fleet safety award
Vehicle awards
Best city van

Headline awards

Van of the Year – headline award
Editor’s award – headline award
Judging for the awards will take place during mid-2008 using a panel of industry experts.
The team behind the Fleet Van Awards already organises one of the biggest annual ceremonies in fleet industry – The Fleet News Awards, which is attended by 1,400 people a year.
This link will be recognised by a special Fleet Van Award – the Van Manufacturer of the Year – which will be decided by the van award judges, but announced at the Fleet News Awards in March 2009.
