Locks 4 Vans expands

20th March 2008 Print

Locks 4 Vans Ltd (L4V), the UK’s largest independent specialist automotive lock company – and an ISO 9001:2000 registered business - is expanding. The company, founded in 2004 by managing director Chris Batterbee MIMI and operations director Steve Young, has just moved into a large new manufacturing and engineering headquarters in Gravesend, Kent. In addition, it has appointed its first ever sales and marketing director, with Andrew Dunley, a well known figure in the security sector, filling this role.

Chris Batterbee explains, “Locks 4 Vans has reached a significant milestone in its development. In just four short years, L4V has grown to become the UK’s major independent vehicle security specialist. Moving to a new, modern headquarters facility and the appointment of Andrew to concentrate on sales and marketing activity lays down solid foundations for further major growth.”

He continues, “L4V has a wide range of high-quality, premium-engineered security products, primarily aimed at the light commercial vehicle sector. L4V specialises in fully-engineered door specific kits for a wide range of vans and commercial vehicles – which are all supplied with concise instructions and come complete with custom-made fittings to enable easy installation and provide the highest standard of security.”

Andrew Dunley brings to L4V many years of experience in the vehicle security business. Prior to joining L4V he worked in a similar role for Simba Security, during which time it grew to be the UK's largest vehicle security installer in the 1990s.

He was also a member of the Joint Action Group on Lorry Theft (JAGOLT) and helped with the fledgling British Standards for vehicle security. Andrew Dunley, a past chairman and director of the Mobile Electronic Security Federation, has also served in senior sales and marketing roles for the Maple Group and ADT.

He says, "Locks 4 Vans has applied uncompromised engineering standards to revolutionise lock fitting and simplify the installation process, to achieve the highest possible security and quality levels. My primary task is to build on these foundations, particularly in the fleet world. With a whole new range of Thatcham-accredited products soon at my disposal it looks to be an exciting year ahead."
