Micro-van Mega-Money at BCA

An Aixam Mega Van realised mega-money in a BCA commercial sale held at Belle Vue, Manchester late last month. The Mega Van is a true microvan being designed to work in cramped urban conditions and constructed from rust free materials – basically a plastic body over an aluminium frame – and examples are rarely seen at auction. The 2007-registered, low-mileage 500 cc diesel version of the Mega Van sold for £3,550 – almost twice the guide value.
BCA’s UK Business Development Manager - Commercial Vehicles Duncan Ward commented “With the increasing likelihood of emissions charging in city areas, we expect interest to rise in this and similar small vehicles from Daihatsu, Suzuki and Piaggio. For a small business or urban retail operation that requires a van to carry smaller loads over shorter distances, these vehicles can make sound economic sense.”
