Manheim Auctions CV Live exceeds 3,000 online sales
Manheim Auctions CV Live sales have now exceeded 3,000 vehicles as the industry leading live online broadcast of physical auctions continues to attract record numbers of bids. The 3,000th commercial vehicle, a 2007/07 registered Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 309 2.2CDi LWB High Roof with 25,000 miles, was sold online at a sale in Glasgow to a buyer in London. Since its launch in August 2006, CV Live has attracted nearly 18,000 online bids and generated sales in excess of £11.7 million.
CV Live connects buyers via the internet to a live auction, allowing them to both see and hear all the action as well as bidding and buying vans and trucks, while competing with buyers actually in the auction halls of each of Manheim’s seven dedicated CV centres. Manheim is currently rolling out CV Live for Trucks following buyer demand for the service which was launched at this year’s CV Show at the NEC in April. Manheim broke its record for an online sale recently with a Mercedes-Benz tractor unit that was sold to an online buyer for £26,300.
Alex Wright, Sales Director, Commercial Vehicles, Manheim Auctions said: “Manheim is an innovator in many fields and online sales of commercial vehicles through CV Live is another great example. Manheim is the only national commercial vehicle auction company to offer all its sales to both online and physical buyers. Crucially CV Live reacts to the needs of our customers by offering buyers, in today’s challenging market conditions, the greatest competitive advantage. This service enables buyers to access the physical auction, with live sound and video, and to bid alongside attendees at all seven of Manheim’s dedicated CV auction centres from the comfort of their own offices. With many buying to order or to fill gaps in stock, this allows them to focus on maximizing their retail sales opportunities rather than travelling around the country.”
