Manheim reports fall in wholesale used van prices
	Manheim Auctions latest monthly van Market Analysis reports that, at £2,790, the average wholesale used van sale price was down 4.7% (£139) in October compared with September. This fall compares with a 4.8% (£135) rise in September and brings the average value back to levels reported in August. Overall volumes in the van sector continued this year’s trend of being significantly higher than the same period last year – up by 22%.
	
	Average month-on-month values fell in six segments in October including Car Derived Vans down by 2.6% (£53), Small Panel Vans down by 11.7% (£425) and Large Panel Vans (< 3.0t) down by 12.0% (£348). Examples of rises in average month-on-month values included Car Vans up by 18.0% (£287), Large Panel Vans (> 3.0t) up by 0.1% (£30) and Tippers up 5.3% (£189).
	
	Commenting on the October report, Alex Wright, Sales Director, Commercial Vehicles, Manheim Auctions said: “Although disappointing, this decrease does bring the average value back to what was reported in August. A fall of this magnitude is in line with seasonal expectations”.
