Durability and flexibility help Sortimo clean up on contract

Van racking specialist Sortimo has cleaned up on winning a contract thanks to the durability of its product and the company’s flexibility on installation.

Sortimo is now installing its racking in 67 Volkswagen Transporter vans for car wash specialists Wilcomatic to be used by engineers across the UK servicing more than 1,500 sites and 4,000 major pieces of equipment.

“Wilcomatic has installations on many supermarket forecourts around Britain as well as at filling stations run by major oil companies and car repair workshops,” said Wilcomatic service director Brad Lawrence.

“Our facilities management division visits many clients to maintain access barriers, alarms, and other equipment in addition to offering portable appliance tests and similar checks, so we need to have a top level commitment to service.

“The engineers’ vans work hard for a living and the racking inside them will have a pretty tough time, too. I looked at four or five brands and compared them all alongside each other at a show this summer but it was Sortimo that came out on top for quality and durability.

“I intend to see the racking transferred to replacements for these vans and the ones after that, so they have a nine year life span ahead of them.

“The tough crash testing that adds to Sortimo’s appeal makes for very strong racking that will stand the pace and although the equipment may be initially dearer the promise of a longer life makes it better value.

“There’s also a vast choice of accessories and fittings so the racks can be tailored to exactly what I need for each van, increasing efficiency for the engineers.

“At the last minute, we even changed the source of the vans from a dealer in the north west, where they would have been delivered to Sortimo’s new facility in Warrington, close to our base.

“Instead, they were delivered via a Croydon VW dealership and Sortimo immediately arranged installation in London to save the expense of moving all the vans, which convinced me of their service levels and clinched the order.”
