Save a bundle on broadband, TV and home phone
One of the only household bills to fall this year has been for TV, landline and broadband services, however millions of people are still not switching on to how much can be saved by 'bundling' services.A recent study by moneysupermarket.com shows over two-thirds (70 per cent) of adults do not use the same provider for these services, and as a result could be wasting nearly £40 every month on standalone products.
Despite triple bundle costs dropping in the last 12 months, the survey shows the majority of those who do have bundled deals haven't reviewed the costs for at least a year. Three in 10 (32 per cent) said they reviewed their deal over a year ago and nearly a quarter (23 per cent) nine months ago.
Rob Barnes, head of broadband and mobiles at moneysupermarket.com said: "One of the advantages of bundled deals is the amount of money people can save. With providers fighting for new customers and dropping their prices, customers can easily swap onto a better deal.
"Dealing with different providers and organising various bills can be a nightmare. However, with bundled deals you'll receive just one bill each month making it far easier to keep an eye on expenses. Also if something goes wrong you only need to ring one provider."
So what deal is best for me?
Barnes added: "There are a number of different bundle deals to suit all types of user. If you're a sports fan, Sky offers the best deal as the additional Sky Sports package has more live sport than any other provider. If you're looking for entertainment then Virgin or BT might be more suitable as both offer hundreds of TV series and films via their on-demand services.
"Over the next year I think bundled packages will continue to dominate the TV, phone and broadband market. We're likely to see prices become more competitive as broadband providers jostle for greater market share. This will be a huge benefit to customers as they can save hundreds of pounds by bundling products together."
