Tiscali becomes part of TalkTalk
TalkTalk is buying Tiscali UK in a £236 million cash deal which will create Britain’s largest consumer broadband provider with over 4.25m customers covering over 25% of all UK households.Today’s announcement immediately ends any uncertainty for Tiscali customers. They can be safe in the knowledge they’ll get uninterrupted service, very importantly including continued provision of their existing email addresses and service.
TalkTalk runs the UK’s most advanced next generation network, and Tiscali customers will be able to enjoy the benefits of higher bandwidth, greater capacity and advanced services, making it easier and faster to use the internet and giving lower-cost telephone calls.
“Six years ago, no one could have imagined that we would build the largest residential broadband provider in the UK, but our determination to offer incredible value with the latest technology has propelled us to being the most popular provider in the country,” says Charles Dunstone. “Combining Tiscali with TalkTalk creates a unique platform that will allow us to innovate faster and provide an even better service for our enlarged customer base.”
TalkTalk, Britain’s fastest growing home phone and broadband specialist, was voted best value home phone company in April 2009. It was also recognised for having the most improved customer service of any broadband provider in the uSwitch survey.
