So You Think You Can Dance?

Presenter Cat Deeley, the new rising star of US entertainment TV, is on hand to see whether they make it through to the next round in Las Vegas, or whether it’s back home for the failing Flashdancers.
Kicking off at the New York auditions where the dancers of varying skill all gather to have their one shot in front of judges; UK’s Nigel Lythgoe (executive producer), Dan Karaty (choreographer for the likes of Jessica Simpson, NSync) and Mary Murphy (champion ballroom dancer). Some step it up, with shining stars being Moussa, back from Series 1 auditions, and Crystal who was the first to go through, but others didn’t fair so well with their attitudes being larger than their dancing ability. One exuberant dancer even broke his nose whilst attempting a front flip, ruining his chances of going through to the Las Vegas round.
Once all the auditions have been completed, only 116 out of thousands of wannabes went through to the 5 day dance session in Las Vegas, who were then whittled down to 20 final participants ready to kick off on the dance floor over the next 10 weeks. Ten females and ten males made it through, all with a variety of expertise in certain areas of dance.
Then it’s competition time with the finalists battling it out over 10 weeks, with one girl and one guy eliminated every week, until only one can be crowned the best dancer in the US winning a year long contract dancing in Celine Dion’s Vegas show, a car and $100,000. Each week a guy and girl are paired up randomly to dance in a different style, which could be anything from Hip-Hop and Contemporary to Salsa and 80s disco, then they face the judges for their comments and the next elimination.
Who will strut their stuff well enough to blow the judges away?
