Rising Star Releases Debut EP

He has already been praised by the music industry’s unofficial tastemaker, Record of the Day, collaborated with acclaimed Jamiroquai and Tom Baxter producer Mike Nielsen, and has an ever increasing online fanbase which is growing by the second.

Yet Craig Johnston, a hotly-tipped singer song-writer, is only now set to release his much anticipated debut EP ‘Burning Time’ on 2 April.

Blending piano, guitar, cello and plaintive vocals, Craig writes bittersweet folky gems that explore the little intimacies and complexities of love and everyday life.

The haunting lead track, ‘Burning Time’ recalls the dying embers of a relationship from the past, and features the sonorous playing of classical cellist Jessica Cox. Other tracks on the new release include the movingly elegiac ‘Made of Stone’, and current single to be released; ‘Two Words’, a funky acoustic blues tune that’s already a firm favourite amongst Craig’s MySpace following.

Craig has already built up a burgeoning live reputation with dates lined up across the country, including The Clapham Grand, Dingwalls and music svengali Tony Moore’s new venue The Regal Rooms, which showcases the best of up-and-coming British talent.

With the release of his debut EP, an expanding tour schedule and major label interest, Craig Johnston is set to win over a whole new legion of fans in 2007.
