Pimp My Ride UK Returns To MTV

23rd March 2007 Print
Tim Westwood and Crew "Legendary Hip Hop DJ" Tim Westwood returns to our small screens at 21.30 on the 8th April, when MTV Networks UK & Ireland launches its third series of the hugely successful car-makeover programme, ‘Pimp My Ride UK’.

From ‘mingin’ to blingin’, Tim and his pimping crew have been busy making pit stops around the country, fixing-up and totally transforming decrepit bangers into gleaming cars laden with ostentatious gadgets and decorations.

This series includes the remarkable overhaul of a Ford Transit with eye-popping results. Bought from a young offenders institute by its current owner, 27 year old rock band member Robin from London, it is being fully fitted with a recording studio, VIP lounge (complete with its own Chesterfield sofa) and a toilet. Destined for the scrapheap, this will be the ultimate tour bus for Robin and his band to cruise from gig to gig in (22 April).

Other modification masterpieces include:

• A Renault Clio being fitted with sporty Max-Power style body kit and a new BMX bike rack. Owned by 20 year old gym instructor Oliver, the interior will boast a Nintendo Wii and monitor as well as a specially created pimped baby seat for his sister. (15 April).
• The pimping of a Diahatsu Hi Jet into a narrow boat complete with portholes, a guinea-pig house and an artist studio with a pottery wheel. With 48 screens in the floor to give the sensation of it being in the water there is no excuse for its 27 year old owner Abi from South Wales not to float men’s boats! (29 April).
• Will 21 year old student David be shaken or stirred when his beloved Ford Fiesta receives the 007 treatment? Kitted with a wi-fi player in the dashboard and an LCD screen in the back, this racy number will even be given the rock star treatment with an Elton John style grand piano installed in its boot. (6 May).
