Tamsin Greig Returns For Love & Lust In Love Soup

2nd April 2007 Print
Actress Tamsin Greig is currently filming a second series of BBC comedy drama Love Soup for BBC One. Producer Verity Lambert said: "I am absolutely thrilled that Tamsin has returned to star in the second series of Love Soup. I'm so pleased to be working with her again and was delighted to hear of her recent win at the Laurence Olivier Awards."

Love Soup, created by David Renwick, takes an entertaining and sexy look at romance and relationships through the eyes of Alice Chenery, played by Greig.

Sheridan Smith and Montserrat Lombard rejoin Greig as colleagues Cleo Martin and Milly Russell, as they once again support and commiserate with each other through the contemporary minefield of finding the perfect man.

Creator David Renwick said: "Series two continues with Alice on the look-out for love, lust and the meaning of life. The friendship between Alice, Cleo and Milly and their witty, quirky take on romance lent the first series great warmth and humour.

"Due to Michael Landes' filming commitments in the USA he has been unable to join the second series. However, we have built on the girls' friendship to create what we hope is an even more entertaining mix of the varied, often unusual forms taken by human relationships."

Love Soup is a co-production between the BBC's comedy and drama departments for BBC One, directed by Christine Gernon and Sandy Johnson. The Executive Producers are David Renwick and Jon Plowman.

Love Soup is being filmed in London and the South East until June 2007. The format of the series will be twelve 30-minute episodes and it will transmit on BBC One later this year.

David Renwick is one of Britain's leading comedy writers; past credits include Jonathan Creek and One Foot In The Grave.
