Katie Melua - A Concert Under The Sea

A stunning (and at times claustrophobic!) viewing experience, this exciting non-fiction film shot in and off the coast of Norway sees world superstar Katie Melua rising to a challenge.
Invited by Statoil, the gas drilling company, to celebrate their 10th anniversary on the biggest man-made structure ever moved on Earth, Katie (after checking their environmental record) agreed to perform on the North Sea floor at the foot of a leg of the enormous drilling platform, thereby incidentally setting the Guinness World record for the deepest underwater concert ever performed 303 metres below the sea.
The event was certainly a logistical challenge - 16 helicopters and 3 supply ships transported 22 tonnes of equipment plus crew the event and TV production crew numbered 33 with Katie and her band and crew totalling 10.
In addition to the documentary film the DVD includes the following extras:
Katie: The Interview
Additional to the film of Katie Melua’s undersea concert is a new interview describing the adventure.

‘Singing In The Rain’
Interview with Katie plus footage of Katie and her band in Tampa, Florida as they try to make the best of a very wet situation when a topical storm hits their soundcheck – complete with torrential rain, wind and lightning
