Channel 4 Leads The Way In Summer Festival Coverage

With the festival season now fully underway and coverage of The Isle of Wight Festival, Download and Wireless under their belt, Channel 4’s commitment to music continues to grow over the summer season with extensive and exclusive coverage of the most talked-about music festivals and events of the year.

T4 on the Beach returns to Weston-super-Mare for the annual one-day event that brings together the cream of the UK and international music scene. Over 30 acts will be performing to a live audience of over 30,000. This year – and for the very first time – there will be two stages and a dance arena.

The musical extravaganza will broadcast live for three-and-half hours on 22nd July. Steve Jones, Miquita Oliver and June Sarpong host this must-see event. Plus on E4 there will be an exclusive, access all areas, 60-minute after-party programme. And following the event, there will be further highlights programming across the channel and for the first time, ten 15-minute diary style shows, following the artists as their T4 day by the sea unfolds..

V Festival. For the fourth year running Channel 4 will covering the festival in August, this time with extended coverage. There’ll be live backstage interviews and a chance to catch up with all the behind-the-scenes gossip. Highlights will be shown for both nights including the likes of Foo Fighters, Snow Patrol & The Killers.

Channel 4 will also be showing the finalists of the Road to V competition in the run up to the festival. T4 will once again be broadcasting live from their VIP bus as part of their six week summer tour. Plus Channel4.com will also be on hand to capture what is set to be one of the key dates in the live music calendar.

Finally Channel 4 will be covering the Isle of Wight’s Bestival – now in its third year – from the 7th to the 9th of September. Coverage includes exclusive highlights from the Beastie Boys, Chemical Brothers, Primal Scream and Gossip. Plus for the first time T4 will raiding the fancy dress cupboard and joining in the fun in it’s non imitable style.

Also, watch out this summer for the third series of The Album Chart Show with its brand-new presenter Sara Cox, which starts on the 6th July.
