Ann Widdecombe Steps Into Frontline Britain

After emerging relatively unscathed from a brush with hoodies for her headline-grabbing report into anti-social behaviour for Tonight With Trevor McDonald, Ann Widdecombe again prepares to step into frontline Britain to tackle more pressing issues in her own, new three-part series.

In Ann Widdecombe Versus The Sex Trade, the redoubtable Conservative MP trains her sights on prostitution.

Never one to shirk confrontation, she visits areas blighted by the vice trade to meet prostitutes, pimps and their clients as she investigates how effective the law is in dealing with the problem.

Next up are so-called scroungers as Ann takes on the UK’s benefits culture.

She moves in with a family comprising a jobless father, his wife and mistress and seven of his 15 children - with two more on the way - who receive almost £25,000 in benefits - to ask if the payments are justified and find out what can be done to remove the dependency on state handouts within some communities.
