Rising R&B star releases first album

10th October 2007 Print
Lauren Tilly Energy charged performances and passionate vocals infuse Desire, the 14-track debut album by singer-songwriter Lauren Tilly. Lauren is a 21 year-old Scot who performs R&B with a twist. When asked for that particular recipe, she quotes “one large measure of R&B, with a good twist of soul, pop and rap, and a liberating vibe”.

Citing influences including Pink, Mary J Blige, Christina Aguillera and Kylie, Lauren’s biggest gig to date was July’s star-studded American Urban Music Awards in New York, when she appeared alongside Whitney Houston and Mary J Blige. At the same gig, Coolio is reported to have been ‘blown away’ by her performance. She has also supported Lulu in a Hogmanay show for 10,000 people at Stirling Castle, and is a featured artist in Glasgow’s bid for the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Desire is the first in a three-album deal with Feel 2 Good Recordz, and is produced by London's Strong Pride Production. It coincides with the release of a single by the same name featuring rapper Rezevoir Dogg, and a UK promotional tour involving radio and TV appearances, and live shows - including a showcase gig on 19 November in London's Soho Revue Bar.

Desire is available from 15 October from online stores including iTunes, Napster, tunetribe, and vidzone, and from November in all Asda stores in Scotland.
