Dom dances out of Strictly Come Dancing

6th November 2007 Print
Dominic Littlewood "got done" on Saturday night when he became the fifth person to be voted off BBC One's Strictly Come Dancing – after failing to impress the judges in the dance off.

All the couples danced either the Foxtrot or the Paso Doble, but once again one of those couples had to leave.

Last week there was controversy when Gabby Logan was voted off the show. But it was Dominic and John Barnes who found themselves in the bottom two competing in the dance off.

Of Dominic's performance the judges said:

Arlene: "The good – more Paso content than anything tonight, more drama. The bad – sometimes you charge round the floor like a raging bull not listening to the music. High drama." Score: 7.

Bruno: "You went for the Spanish content but danced to a different band. But you have to listen to the music and watch the periscope hands. But you did make an effort." Score: 6.

Len: "My heart goes out to you celebs. You have such a hard job. You're cheeky but the Paso is aggression yet you came out and changed your persona and gave it your best." Score: 7.

Craig: "For me full of crowd pleasing moments but technically for me really boxy because you were trying too hard. Your timing was out, your shoulders raised." Score: 5.

His total score was 25/40.

The judges' leader board was as follows:

Alesha 36
Penny 35
Matt 32
Letitia 31 =
Gethin 31 =
Kelly 28
Kate 26
Dominic 25
John 24
Kenny 21

Of the dance off the judges said:

Craig: "It was certainly not the best dance of the evening but for natural rhythm I vote for John and Nicole."

Arlene: "I'm obsessed with rhythm and because of that I vote for John and Nicole."

Bruno: "I am going for the person with the most natural dance talent, a natural charmer. John and Nicole."

The three judges agreed and therefore John went through but Len said: "Who would have expected them both to entertain us so beautifully? I vote for John and Nicole."

Afterwards Dominic said: “Everyone behind the scenes has been wonderful. The better man got through... I can have a vindaloo tonight!"

The competition continues this week with the couples performing either the Viennese Waltz or the Salsa.
