Andy Williams hit returns to the charts

11th December 2007 Print
Andy Williams’ ‘It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year’ has blasted back into the UK charts, 44 years after its original release. The signature tune of the Christmas 2007 Marks & Spencer campaign, has found itself advancing up the charts, and is now on the edge of the top 20, even though it has not been physically released until yesterday (10 December).

Andy Williams wants to make the Christmas number one a national event again. With X Factor topping the charts for the past two years with songs unrelated to the festive period, Andy wants a traditional Christmas song to be at number one.

“After all the years of being associated with the Christmas season, I’m excited to be back in the charts in the UK. Wouldn’t it be amazing to have a record of a traditional Christmas standard at the top of the charts this holiday!!”

‘It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year’ has been tipped by the Radio 1 Chart Show to make the top three by Christmas. Currently at 33/1 to top the chart, 2006 X Factor winner Leona Lewis’ ‘Bleeding Love’ is favourite at 1/4.
