The BBC's multi-platform teen brand BBC Switch will host its first live event, BBC Switch Live, on Sunday 12 October from 1.00 to 6.00pm at London's Hammersmith Apollo. The news was announced by Annie Mac and Nick Grimshaw on BBC Radio 1's Switch show.

The event will be exclusively headlined by Fall Out Boy and Miley Cyrus.

This will be the first time in the UK Miley performs as herself, rather than her TV alter ego Hannah Montana.

Ne-Yo, McFly, Basshunter, N-Dubz and George Sampson complete a line-up of some of the biggest stars in the teen world.

BBC Switch Live will be exclusively for 14 to 17-year-olds and hosted by Radio 1's Annie Mac, Nick Grimshaw, Greg James, Fearne Cotton, Kelly Osbourne and BBC Switch's Tom Deacon.

Exclusive interviews and performances will be broadcast on Switch on Radio 1 on the night.

Highlights will be available the following Saturday on music TV show Sound on BBC Two.

Online at bbc.co.uk/switch, the 5:19 Show presented by Tom Deacon will feature backstage chats and random humour from Switch Live every day the following week.

The site will also offer artist pages, video diaries, backstage fun, info for parents, photo galleries, artist interviews and more.

Next Sunday, 28 September, Annie Mac and Nick Grimshaw will announce how listeners can get hold of tickets live on Radio 1's Switch show.

"We have so many great artists and I'm particularly proud that BBC Switch will be the host of Miley Cyrus' first UK appearance as a megastar artist in her own right.

"The content across Radio 1, BBC Two and online means even those that aren't at the event can still enjoy all the amazing performances.
