Posh London Nosh At A Fraction Of The Cost
For the first time ever Londoners can experience fine dining at a fraction of the cost as lastminute.com launches London Restaurant Week in association with MasterCard. Based on the very successful New York Restaurant Week, this will be a first of its kind as the elite of the London restaurant scene come together to celebrate accessible fine dining.Customers will be given the unique opportunity to enjoy a two-course lunch or three-course dinner at a price that won’t break their bank balance.
Over 100 of the city’s finest dining rooms have been specially invited to participate in the event, which takes place between 9th and 17th March. Restaurants taking part in the price fixed menu include Michelin starred Benares, Tamarind, Rasoi Veneet Bhatia and Richard Corrigan, as well as The Ritz, Pied A Terre, The River Café and Aubergine auctioning off tables for charity.
Restaurant-goers will be able to enjoy a two-course lunch for just £15.00 and a three-course dinner for £25.00 safe in the knowledge that they would usually pay quadruple the price for the privilege.
Mark Bower, Head of Restaurants, lastminute.com said: ‘We are extremely proud and excited to have been able to create a promotion that really highlights what a fantastic restaurant scene London has.
“It is very unusual for such elite restaurants to take part in a promotion, however by being the market leader in the online restaurant and leisure booking industry it has allowed us to bring accessible fine dining to London for the first time.
“London Restaurant Week will give people the opportunity to dine out in their own city at affordable prices. It also gives people the chance to experience and gain an insight into restaurants only ever associated with the world of the rich and famous.”
“Ultimately our vision is London Restaurant Week will continue to go from strength to strength and eventually become a well established part of the restaurant scene.” Concluded Bower.
As well as being great for the palate, London Restaurant Week is great for the conscience, as lastminute.com will donate 20p to Capital Radio’s charity, Help a London Child for every person that dines. lastminute.com will also auction off a table at several exclusive restaurants, including The Ritz, Pied A Terre, The River Café and Aubergine with all proceeds also going to Help A London Child.
Restaurateur, Aldo Zilli said: “Giving people the opportunity to experience the taste of fine dining at a top London restaurant, at a price they can afford is something, which I welcome with open arms.
“Elite restaurants should not only be a hangout for celebrities but a place where anyone can enjoy delicious food in fabulous surroundings, regardless of how healthy their bank balance is. lastminute.com’s London Restaurant Week does just that.
"I have been a supporter of Help a London Child for as long as I can remember and knowing that all the money raised from lastminute.com’s London Restaurant Week will go towards helping our less advantaged kids, is a truly special thing."
Help a London Child improves the lives of thousands of vulnerable children living in our capital city.
