Masala Zone has the perfect spot with a terrace on Upper Street in Islington.Just a short stroll from Angel tube station, Masala Zone Islington has built a reputation for excellent food at even better prices – the average price per person is £13 for lunch and £14 for dinner.
Up to 40 people can watch the world go by while feasting on the delicious authentic home-style Indian food on offer. Overlooking Islington Green, the terrace at Masala Zone Islington has wooden bench seating, large canopies and outdoor heaters for chilly evenings.
There is also a regular ‘street stall’ on the terrace, where a tasty selection of dishes are prepared in front of diners, creating a treat for the senses – the aroma often entices passers by to join in and dine.
Whether diners are looking for a quick bite – street food and Masala burgers - or a real feast – thalis (including ayurvedic thalis, prepared with diabetics in mind), noodle bowls and a choice of ten curry and rice plates – Masala Zone has something for everyone. There is also an extensive selection of vegetarian and fish dishes.
Aloo Tikki Chaat (spiced mash cake with yogurt and chutney), Bhel (crunchy salad with chutneys and peanuts) and Dahi Puri (puffed hollow biscuits filled with chickpeas, mash splashed with yoghurt and chutneys), all £3.50 are just some of the delicious street food dishes served that are perfect for warm weather.
A wide range of refreshing drinks are on offer from Mango and Coconut Lassi £2.40 to Nimboo Pani (fresh Indian lemonade) £2.40 and Margaritas (mango and strawberry) £4.40 to Beer £2.75-3.15. Of course, regular soft drinks and wines are also available.
