Harrods Announces Plans For Restaurant Portfolio

As part of ongoing development within the famous Food Halls and Restaurants, a number of new additions are being added to the portfolio.
Harry Morgan’s Deli – now open
Established originally in 1948 by Harry Morgan a local butcher, this once tiny Takeaway Salt Beef bar is now the largest and most famous ‘Kosher style' deli Restaurant in the UK. They have now opened a branch at Harrods.
Voted in the Top 5 best restaurants in London (Evening Standard Restaurant Awards 2004) and voted ‘The best Chicken Soup' in London by the Sunday Times, Harry Morgan's offers only the best in Home made Jewish delicacies such as Chopped Liver, Gefilte Fish, Pickled Cucumbers, and of course Lokshen Pudding.
Champagne and Seafood bar – opening 1 October
At the heart of the 150 year old Butchery and Fishmonger’s Hall, this new bar will be a contemporary marble and glass creation, serving chilled Champagnes by the glass, to pair with a range of seasonal shell fish and prepared dishes, such as Cromer Crab, Scottish Wild Smoked Salmon and Morecambe Bay potted shrimp.
Dim Sum bar – opening late September
Dim Sum, meaning literally "touch the heart" (order to your heart's content) but meaning "morsel/snack" will be served in the new bar, located on the Ground floor in the Charcuterie Hall.
A range of traditional dim sum will be served, including various types of steamed buns such as cha siu baau, dumplings and rice noodle rolls (cheong fun), which contain a range of ingredients, including beef, chicken, pork, prawns and vegetarian options. Plates of steamed green vegetables, roasted meats, congee porridge and other soups will also be available, as well as the familiar egg tarts.
The Food Halls refurbishment – a brief overview
The Food Halls is currently undergoing new development:
- A refurbished Ground Floor Food Hall, featuring iconic Harrods classics such as the teas, preserves, honeys, biscuits and chocolates, as well as new ranges, including ‘Opulence’ and ‘Food Halls’.
- Movement of the pantry offering from the lower ground to ground floor, with a relocation of the Food Orders desk and introduction of new Florist.
- Development of a new urban wellness centre in association with Farmacia, to be located on the lower ground floor.
- Vom Fass oils and vinegars to be relocated to the ground floor
- Introduction of a number of new concessions, including Galler Chocolates, Cluizel Chocolates and Chocolate bouquet.
