Argentine indulgence

The moreish trio is an inspired homage to the Dulce de Leche, Argentina’s decadent calorie-extolled pudding made with milk, vanilla and sugar. In this case, the Gaucho’s Chefs Paul Fletcher and Mervyn Desir have added a generous helping of chocolate and other secret seasonings especially for fans of the cacao bean visiting the company’s Piccadilly restaurant during this heavenly week.
The trio includes an Argentine honeycomb with dulce de leche mousse; a hot chocolate dulce de leche pudding; and a dark chocolate bomb filled with dulce de leche.
To compliment this fabulous hit of pure chocolate, the pudding is accompanied by a glass of Malamado Malbec, Argentina’s first fortified wine.
The wine comes from the cellars of the man who first made Malamado in Argentina, José Alberto Zuccardi, of the country’s leading family-owned winery, Familia Zuccardi. Fortified and then aged in French oak barrels for 25 months, the glass is a rich and complex Malbec wine in the style of fine Port. Full of sweet tannins and with a silky full body that matches the lingering chocolate richness, this is the perfect wine for such a chocolate rush.
Gaucho’s chocolate trio and a 50ml glass of Malamado Malbec 2003 will sell at £15.95.
Gaucho Piccadilly expanded to a four floor temple of everything beef in May 2006. There are presently nine Gaucho restaurants in London and one in Manchester. More information can be found by visiting Gauchorestaurants.co.uk.
