The Slug And Lettuce raise the food bar

The new menu has been developed to ensure that customer’s tastes have been met, as well as bringing back some timeless classics such as the appetizing Fish Pie and the delectable Gloucestershire old spot sausages and mash. New flavour combinations have been introduced in to the menu mixing ingredients that work perfectly to provide a taste experience like no other such as the spice enhanced Red Thai Chicken Curry served with authentic sticky jasmine rice and the Chicken and Chorizo Penne, penne pasta with Spanish chorizo, red onion, mixed peppers and grilled chicken breast served with a creamy red pepper sauce and topped with parmesan.
The Slug and Lettuce also recognise the importance of a varied and mouth-watering vegetarian offer. To make those tasty meat free, dishes stand out on the menu, Slug have re-introduced the recognised ‘V’ symbol throughout their menu, along with dishes such as the ‘Feta and Med Veg Bundle’, filo pastry stuffed with a herby mix of feta, peppers, aubergine, tomato and olives served with winter leaves and an orange and poppy seed dressing - a taste combination designed to tickle those tastebuds!
Brand Development Manager for Slug and Lettuce Nicola Stuart feels that this change is a forward step for the brand and commented “Slug and Lettuce stand out from other high street bars due to their food offering, and these changes have raised the bar once again. We feel it is important to us and our customers that British farming is supported and we therefore try to use British meat produce as much as possible in our dishes.
“We also recognise that our younger customers need to have a great food offer too and to make sure that they don’t get bored with their menu we have added a few more tasty dishes and a little bit of entertainment!”
Slug customers are encouraged to celebrate Sunday with the new delicious roast dinner, the perfect winter warmer. The roast includes a wide selection of choices including succulent British rib of beef or farm-assured roast chicken and to compliment these, all roasts are served with Yorkshire pudding, buttery mashed and roast potatoes and an extensive offering of delicious seasonal vegetables.
And just to make sure customers are definitely not left hungry the dessert menu has been enhanced with tasty options such as the deep-filled apple and rhubarb crumble pie and lemon treacle sponge both served with hot custard or vanilla dairy ice cream or for those after a chocolate treat, the iced winter berries smothered with hot white chocolate sauce is a perfect choice– a truly hot and cold sumptuous sensation!
The new menu is being launched across 86 Slug and Lettuce bars throughout the UK from Tuesday 30 October 2007.
