La Parmigiana announced as Best Italian in Scotland

La Parmigiana announced as Best Italian in Scotland La Parmigiana, one of Glasgow’s oldest Italian restaurants, has been recognised as the Best Italian in Scotland at the Scottish Restaurant Awards 2008.

Owner Sandro Giovanazzi commented;

“I am thrilled to have won such a prestigious award which recognises the very best Scotland has to offer. We have a very loyal customer base which in itself is a testimony to the authenticity and high standards of our cuisine, but to be recognised on a national level is a fantastic achievement.”

Located on Glasgow’s Great Western Road, the restaurant has been a fixture in the cities culinary landscape since 1978. Combining local Scottish produce, with traditional techniques, the restaurant serves authentic Italian cuisine complimented by an exclusively Italian wine cellar.

La Parmigiana beat city rivals Amarone and Edinburgh based La Favorita in the Best Italian category at the glittering awards ceremony held in January.

This latest award follows last years accolade, where La Parmigiana was awarded Gold at the Pasta, Pizza and Italian Association Awards alongside only 7 other UK restaurants.
