Buckinghamshire restaurant launches mobile menu Award winning restaurant, The Plough in Wavendon, Buckinghamshire is extending its offering with a unique mobile phone tool designed to give customers an unsurpassed level of service ‘in their pocket’. Already The Plough has received praise for its excellence of service, culinary creativity and not to mention a national award for the restaurant’s garden and landscaping.

Albeit, Head Chef, Grant Hawthorne is now implementing the capabilities of mobile technology to appeal and connect with customers on a personal level.

Through a mobile technology called Memogo, customers will be able to access information, menus, wine lists, events plus content-rich images and text about The Plough direct on their mobile phone.

“As well as provide a first class level of service, we want to show customers that we are prepared to offer the very latest developments in communication that makes each person feel extra special”, says Grant.

“We are among the first to utilise this technology but in an age where the mobile phone is paramount, this is an exciting and fun way to reach out to our customers and give them unlimited access to our restaurant.”

To access The Plough’s mobile ‘Channel’ customers simply text ‘plough’ to 07800003282. A link is then sent to the user that becomes a personal ‘portal’ to the restaurant.

Grant adds: “Unlike a website, the mobile channel can be updated with images and text easily by myself and this then travels with our customers wherever they have their mobile. What we love about it is that it is purely voluntary and non-intrusive; it is simply up to the customer to decide where and when they want to visit our channel.”

The technology is supplied by Memogo Ltd that has purposefully built this cost effective marketing tool to be available for all categories of business.

David Kerindi, Director of the company says: “Memogo is ideal for adding to the customer experience. Its simplicity is key to its success; simple for a business to apply and simple for a consumer to use.”

Grant adds further: “We launched our chauffeur-driven 8-seater Mercedes recently,” he comments, “and I’m delighted that guests can now book their business lunch or dinner and sample a few of the United Kingdom’s best dishes here at The Plough Wavendon, after being chauffeured to and from the restaurant in understated elegance. Our mobile channel simply adds to the value and perception we offer.”

The Plough Wavendon is open daily from noon, and its menu includes an affordable business set lunch along with a pre-theatre dinner served between 5.30pm and 7.00pm.
