A distinctive local menu The Granville @ Barford is once again celebrating after winning another prestigious food & drink award. The Granville won "Most Distinctive Local Menu" in the Warwickshire Life Food & Drink Awards 2008, which celebrate Warwickshire’s best producers, suppliers and restaurants. The Granville was one of three finalists in the category beating off competition from The Bluebell in Henley in Arden and The Bridge at Bidford.

Nominations for the awards were voted by the general public and the winners announced at an awards evening at Warwick Castle on Thursday 2 October. The evening, which was hosted by ITV Central’s Bob Warman, included a drinks reception in the State Rooms followed by a locally sourced 3 course dinner in the Great Hall.

Val Kersey, Proprietor of The Granville, stated “It is a fantastic honour and privilege to win such a prestigious award. We pride ourselves on using fresh locally sourced seasonal produce in our menu so it’s a wonderful accolade to have won in this category. I would like to thank all of our customers who voted for us and to my team who have made winning this award possible.”

The Granville has also been nominated for ‘Best Dining Pub/Inn’ in the highly coveted Coventry & Warwickshire Food & Drink Awards 2008. Last year The Granville beat tough competition to win both ‘Best Restaurant’ and ‘Champion of Local Produce’. The Granville will find out whether it has won for a second year on Tuesday 18 November at an awards ceremony at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry.

The Granville is situated 1 mile from the M40 at junction 15 on the A429 sign-posted to Stow-on-the-Wold. Please visit the website at granvillebarford.co.uk for further information.
