8th February 2008 Print
Knight Frank and Erna Low Property are delighted to announce that they have been appointed the joint agents for the UK and Ireland for the $1 billion four-season Revelstoke Mountain Resort in British Columbia, Canada. This is the first time since the launch of the resort in March 2007 that any of the real estate offerings have been marketed outside North America.

Revelstoke Mountain Resort is expected to be completed over 15 years and will include over 5,000 new housing units (1,500 apartments, 2,000 hotel suites, 850 town houses and 550 private plots), as well as more than 500,000 square feet of commercial and retail space, and a signature golf course. The resort’s first real estate offering, 59 homes in the multi-phased ‘Nelsen Lodge’, sold out in three hours last March; a further selection were released the same day, with more than 80 percent of the homes sold ($70 million worth of property, with over 50 percent of buyers coming from the U.S. and overseas).

Nelsen Lodge Two, the closest of the three apartment buildings to the slopes, comprises studio and one, two and three bedroom apartments and penthouses. With breathtaking views across Columbia River and the Monashee Mountains, there will be 35,000 square feet of commercial space and resident-only facilities including a media room, a children’s play room, a gym and an outdoor heated swimming pool. The apartments range in size from 475 to 2,100 square feet and are priced from mid CAN$400,000’s.

Every year, more than 8,000 helicopter and snowcat skiers from around the world flock to Revelstoke, attracted by its perfect powder and varied alpine terrain. With the development of Revelstoke Mountain Resort, over 20 lifts and more than 100 ski and snowboard runs are being created, transforming the area into a world-class resort.

An eight-person, $16-million gondola and a high-speed quad chairlift represent the first stage of construction and additional gondolas and chairlifts are expected to be completed in the winter of 2008/09. Revelstoke will boast North America’s longest lift-serviced vertical descent and Selkirk Tangiers Helicopter Skiing and CAT Powder Skiing will seal the resort’s reputation as a one-stop destination for helicopter, snowcat and lift skiing.

James Price, Head of International Residential Development, Knight Frank, says: “We always seek to promote the finest residential opportunities around the world, from city centre, beach front, and of course ski destinations; we are hugely excited therefore to be able to offer Revelstoke which, with such a fantastic range of four season facilities, will attract huge interest and is destined to take a position at the very peak of North America’s ski destinations.”

Bertie Sanderson at Erna Low Property, says: “There has been a huge buzz about Revelstoke within the ski industry for some time now and we are delighted to be working with Knight Frank to bring this exciting resort to the UK and Irish markets. The master-plan and sheer volume of investment being channelled into the ski infrastructure will without a doubt propel Revelstoke into becoming one of the most sought after four season resorts in the world. This is a resort to invest in early-on.”
