Spain’s Costa Esuri eyes the finishing line

Two iconic projects broke ground in 2003 – Spain’s largest golf resort Costa Esuri and the ‘New Wembley’. The latter was supposed to stage the 2006 FA Cup Final but setback after setback by constructors Multiplex meant that the FA only got the keys in March 2007. An altogether bigger project, Costa Esuri, covering 6.5 million square metres of land, encompassing 6,000 properties and two 18-hole golf courses is already eyeing the finish line. Andrew Benitz, Director of western Costa del la Luz real estate agents, Titan Properties, comments, “It’s quite extraordinary how much the developers of Costa Esuri have achieved in such a short space of time. Less than five years since earth movement began, over 3,000 properties have been delivered, the first of two 18-hole championship standard golf courses designed by José Canales and under Aymerich Golf Management opened back in December 2006 and the second will be unveiled in July 2008. A 15,000m² commercial centre containing four storeys of high street stores, boutiques, restaurants, bars, a bowling alley and Eroski supermarket is well underway and zones have been designated for sporting facilities plus four and five star hotels, the first of which, a 272-room, is to be open by the end of 2009.”

Andrew continues, “The majority of development infrastructure is now in place at Costa Esuri, from roads to children’s play areas, and the developers are now investing heavily in landscaping to the tune of 600,000 euros, planting hundreds of trees and plants around the site. They have also announced a 1,423-berth marina capable of accommodating superyachts alongside 40,000m² of commercial space, a Spa and nautical club which, when complete around the end of 2010, will outshine the likes of Vilamoura and Puerto Banús. Everyone knew that Costa Esuri was an ambitious project that would take years to build-out but I am continually impressed by ongoing progress each time I make a site visit.”

Costa Esuri is the largest and the fastest selling golf development in Spain. Set on beautiful scenic land adjacent to the River Guadiana (also forming the Portuguese Border) the resort comprises terraced houses, apartments, villas, plots of undeveloped land ready for private villas plus a variety of sporting and leisure facilities. Fully furnished two bedroom apartments start from just 160,000 euros with 5% guaranteed rental income for year one. Two bedroom townhouses within the resort start from just 194,000 euros with the same rental guarantee and furnishing package. Costa Esuri is an hour from Seville Airport, only 35 minutes from Faro Airport and closest to Huelva Airport which could be fully operational by 2012.
