Kaká invests in Brazil’s real estate market World football player of the year, Kaká, keeps his eye on the ball by investing in Brazil’s real estate market.

Kaká, voted world player of the year by The Times newspaper, Seria A player of the year, Copa American winner and Champions league winner with AC Milan, has remained loyal to his roots by purchasing an apartment in the prestigious Estrela do Atlantico development in Natal, NE Brazil.

The real estate market in this region of Brazil is becoming one of the world’s hottest emerging destinations as a growing economy, low inflation, large amounts of foreign direct investment and rising tourism fuel demand. Kaká said “Natal, with certainty, is one of the prettiest cities in Brazil. It is an interesting part of our country and (has) the closest proximity to Europe. This chance appeared for Natal and I used it to my advantage and believe the tourist potential and capacity of yield the enterprise has to offer.”

Estrela do Atlantico in which Kaká made his investment is centrally located within the city of Natal. The majority of apartments enjoy stunning views of Ponta Negra Beach and complex facilities include on site shops, cafes, tennis courts, swimming pool, gymnasium, spa, launderette, nursery, children’s play area and 24 hour security to name but a few. Investment in an average apartment starts at just £53,677 / €80,000. Kaká purchased his apartment in phase one of the development and now Obelisk International have released the second phase only weeks later due to high demand.

Obelisk International’s Sales & Marketing Director, Kevin Prior explained, “As a consequence of the unprecedented success represented by the ‘Phase One’ release of Estrela do Atlântico, Obelisk International felt that a secondary release was the correct evolutionary step to take. The project represents substantial value and provides not only exceptional growth potential but also, at 18% below comparative market values, a strong investor’s edge."

High quality developments like Estrela do Atlântico are very important to the structure of Natal and the trend is having a huge knock on effect on the type of services, all of which are catering for an ever increasing luxury tourism industry. In June 2009, Natal is to see another major boost in the capitals infrastructure and increased tourism, with the opening of South America’s largest and the world’s eighth largest airport which boasts an impressive investment input of $130 million.
