The cup runneth over for Brazil’s property market

21st November 2007 Print
Pipa Beleza chapadao The outlook for Brazil’s property market has been nothing but sunny for a few years now, but the news that the country has been named as the host nation for the 2014 FIFA World Cup will only serve to turn up the heat.

The world looked on as the 2006 tournament kick-started consumer confidence in Germany, but whilst they needed a cup to lift them out of the doldrums, Brazil doesn’t need the same medicine. The boom is already on.

Part of Goldman Sachs-coined BRICs (Brazil, Russia, India and China), tipped to collectively overtake the G7 economies by 2050, Brazil can now get even with its team mates on the sporting front. China has the 2008 Olympics, India the 2010 Commonwealth Games, Russia the 2014 Winter Olympics, and how apt that Brazil should take the football. As Brazilian president Luiz Ignacio Lula da Silva said “soccer is more than a sport for us, it’s a national passion” and having won the Cup it five times, they certainly have the credentials for a good event.

Samantha Gore, Sales & Marketing Director of Brazil specialist agents uv10 comments, “Major global sporting events automatically improve local transport links and facilities and also serve to showcase the country’s best assets to millions of viewers. We can only imagine the effect the World Cup will have on Brazil. In areas such as Pipa, just south of Natal in the northeastern state of Rio Grande do Norte, prices are already storming on up at 20 to 30% per annum and as it’s a favourite resort with wealthy Brazilians, finding rental accommodation is a challenge. The Brazilian property market is far from its peak and there’s plenty of growth to be seen between now and 2014.”

Apart from boasting a picturesque town teeming with trendy restaurants, bars and shops, as well as some of the finest beaches in Brazil, Pipa is also a property hotspot. Ecologically protected, building land is scarce and planning permission is hard to come by keeping demand as high as the temperatures. High up on the russet-coloured Chapadao, the cliff that forms a backdrop to the beaches, sits Pipa Beleza, a boutique development dedicated to outdoor living. Verandahs, terraces, private gardens and rooftop solariums all offer a wonderful vantage point on the lush Atlantic Forest and sweeping beaches.

The apartments, penthouses, detached and semi-detached villas combine Norwegian design with Brazilian rustic charm in an idyllic sea view setting. Built with the finest local materials Pipa Beleza is an oasis of luxury with plenty to occupy the residents including their own Ocean Club. This Spa facility will have swimming and relaxation pools, Balinese baths, yoga and a unique meditation garden as well as a lounge, delicatessen and stylish restaurant and bar. The developers will also provide full property rentals with an on-site management and administration office ensuring high returns and a carefree ownership experience.

Off-site Pipa village is just 1,200 metres away or you could simply take to the beach, the quaintly named Praia do Amor (Love Beach), and stretch out lazily or try kitesurfing, swimming with the dolphins who live contentedly in the bay or take a beach buggy across the dunes. Augusto Severo International Airport is around 80km from Pipa.

Prices at Pipa Beleza start from only £55,000 gbp for a large two bedroom garden apartment (type C), from £65,000 for a two bedroom property with roof terrace (type A), from £71,000 gbp for a penthouse with private double terrace, from £85,000 gbp for a three bedroom semi-detached house and from £105,000 gbp for a three bedroom villa with private garden. Penthouses, apartments with roof terrace and semi-detached villas have an option for a private Jacuzzi whilst villas have an option for both private pool and Jacuzzi.
