Down by the riverside

For tranquil riverside homes in Kent, apartment hunters need look no further – for an award winning house builder is bringing a range of suitable properties to Tonbridge.
Redrow Homes is about to get underway with a stylish development of 226 apartments close to the town centre.

The house builder hopes the venture will appeal to a broad spectrum of house buyers, including first time buyers, empty nesters and couples.

The development, off Walter’s Farm Road, will comprise one and two-bedroom apartments housed in five separate buildings, one of which will be allocated as affordable housing. Many of the houses will boast a serene view over the River Medway.

The apartments will be designed with a contemporary feel and each one will come with its own parking space, some even boasting under ground car parking. Two-bedroom apartments will also have an en-suite to the master bedroom. There will also be an internet café incorporated into the development.

The stylish apartments are just a five minute walk from Tonbridge high street, which boasts a range of shops, restaurants and banks. A Waitrose store is also within easy walking distance.

Caron Hutchins, sales manager for Redrow Homes (Eastern) says: “This is a really great spot for a development and we think it will appeal to a range of people. Its proximity to Tonbridge high street means that all the amenities you could need are only a short walk away, which we think will be really useful. We’re looking forward to a successful launch in the autumn.”

Tonbridge station is also just 10 minutes away, with a trip to London taking only 40 minutes – great for commuters - while Tunbridge Wells can be reached in around 10 minutes. The development also has superb road links via the A26, A21 and A2014 and is close to the M20, M25 and M26 motorways.

As part of the scheme, Redrow will be making a contribution to Tonbridge’s Racecourse sports ground, which hosts all kind of activities from rugby to tennis and orienteering.

Basildon-based Redrow Homes (Eastern) has an excellent track record in Kent with existing developments in Sittingbourne and Ashford. It is also building in Bury St Edmunds, Kesgrave, near Ipswich, Hitchin, Colchester and Heybridge, near Maldon.
