5% deposit paid: how will you spend yours?

Surrounded by the picturesque Kent countryside, Great Easthall will form the county’s newest village and comprise 800 new homes including two bedroom apartments and two, three and four bedroom houses. With the money they saved from the 5% deposit paid by Countryside Properties, David and Rakel were able to rethink their budget and purchase a spacious three bedroom home at Great Easthall just in time for the arrival of their new baby daughter Alisha, who was born in March 2007.
David commented: “The 5% deposit paid incentive that Countryside Properties offered was excellent and was one of the major pulling points for us. With the extra cash it provided we were able to increase our budget and spend more of our own money on a larger, better property that the family can grow in to.”
David and Rakel needed to secure a property quickly as they were expecting the arrival of Alisha in March 2007, so Countryside Properties and its recommended solicitor were instrumental in speeding up the process.
David said: “We had initially put in an offer on a property in Gillingham, but due to a five vendor chain the sale was moving slowly and Alisha’s expected arrival date was creeping ever closer.”
He continued: “In response to a local advert we took a drive up to Great Easthall and were immediately impressed with the scheme, the houses on offer and particularly the show home. Countryside Properties’ staff and in particular the solicitor they recommended were extremely helpful, pushing the completion date and the exchange date together so that we would be in our new home before the baby arrived.”
Another element of the development that really appealed to David and Rakel were the new facilities included in the scheme and the surrounding area. When complete, Great Easthall will incorporate all the charming characteristics associated with a typical English village including a central village pond, a Kentish orchard, a community allotment, a playing field and a children’s play area. Land has also been allocated for the provision of a village primary school, a neighbourhood centre and a local doctor’s surgery.
David commented: “It will be great to have a primary school on our doorstep and it will be complete for Alisha to attend in just a few years. Also, long term, the scheme’s proximity to Sittingbourne College is excellent.”
David had bought a new-build home before and loves the convenience of buying a home that is ready to move into. “New build is excellent, particularly for people with young families and in our circumstance with the arrival of a new baby. We moved straight in and didn’t have to worry about modernising or decorating, which would have been extremely stressful and would have meant less quality time with the family.”
Yvonne Hudson-Green, Sales and Marketing Director for Countryside Properties, comments: “With all our buyers we try to minimise the stress associated with moving home and incentives like 5% deposit paid and part-exchange go some way to help. We take each purchaser’s circumstances in to consideration and in the case of Mr. and Mrs. Lang it was important that they were settled in to their home quickly, therefore we did everything in our power to achieve it.”
The show home and marketing suite are open daily from 9.30am to 4.30pm. For further information visit Greateasthall.co.uk .
