Get on your bike - to the Medway Gate development in Cuxton
Almost 200 cyclists will take to the roads of Kent on Sunday as they embark on the first leg on the Tour De France. To get into the spirit of things Charles Church has decided to hold its own mini Tour De France event at its Medway Gate development in Cuxton. To mark the occasion the housebuilder has hired two static bikes and is inviting people to come down to the development between midday and 4pm and show off their cycling skills. Competitors will be asked to cycle as far as they can in just one minute, with the fastest cyclists under 16, aged between 16 and 25, and 25 and over being presented with a gift voucher which can be redeemed at local cycle shop Geoff Wiles Cycles.
Denise Rogers, Charles Church Sales Manager, says: “When the Tour De France cyclists pass through Kent the whole community gets behind them. We wanted to give something back to the Cuxton community and decided to arrange a mini Tour De France to coincide with the real thing so that people could get into the spirit of things and have the opportunity to win vouchers so they can buy their own cycling equipment. Local cycle shop Geoff Wiles Cycles has got on board so it should be a real community event.”
