6th July 2007 Print
Residents at Holborough and members of the Snodland community are being invited to take part in a treasure hunt being held at Berkeley Homes (Kent) Ltd’s Holborough development, near Snodland in Kent. The treasure hunt, which takes place on Saturday 21st July, is just one of a number of events being held between Saturday 7th and Sunday 22nd July as part of the Snodland 2007 Festival.

The festival is being organised by the Chamber of Commerce through its quarterly Town Talk publication and is being sponsored by Berkeley Homes.

For the small fee of £5, up to five people can take part in the Holborough Treasure Hunt and use their knowledge to complete the challenges in a bid to win the treasure. Each team will receive a goody bag and will be invited to enjoy a BBQ on site at Holborough upon completion of the hunt. The winning team will be presented with £250 worth of vouchers of their choice and there will also be a number of runner-up prizes.

The festival will be launched on Saturday 7th July with the Snodland Town Carnival and Carnival Dance and will be rounded off with a special ‘Songs of Praise’ service at All Saints Church on Sunday 22nd July. A wide range of entertainment will be on offer during the two-week festival period including amongst others, an open air Drifters concert, historical walks of Snodland, an ‘Antiques Roadshow’ event, a children’s open air disco and funfair, an art exhibition and an evening of popular classical music performed by The City of Rochester Symphony Orchestra.

The Snodland Festival will provide an excellent opportunity to enhance the reputation of the town and emphasise the advantages of living and working in Snodland.

A number of other local businesses and organisations are also supporting the two-week long festival including Snodland Town Council, Snodland Historical Society, Snodland Choral Society, St Katherine’s School, Snodland Church of England School, Holmesdale Technology College and Snodland Football Club.

Angela Plant, Marketing Manager for Berkeley Homes (Kent) Ltd comments: “The Chamber of Commerce, through its Town Talk publication, have put a great deal of effort into the organisation of the Snodland 2007 festival, which we are sure will be a resounding success. We are delighted to be acting as principal sponsor of the festival and are very much looking forward to hosting the Holborough Treasure Hunt, which we hope will prove popular with residents and the local community alike.”

Holborough is situated on the outskirts of Snodland, just off the M20 motorway and within easy reach of the M2, offering easy access to the M25, London and the rest of South East. All properties at Holborough feature ‘New England’ inspired exteriors complemented by attractive landscaping and water features. Internally, the properties boast stylish interiors and a highly contemporary specification, which provides a striking contrast to the pastel-coloured weatherboard exteriors.

All the homes at Holborough benefit from Super E Technology, a new Canadian Government backed building initiative, which promotes energy efficiency and a healthier living environment. Benefits of this new technology include controlled ventilation for fresher, healthier air (a real plus for asthma and allergy sufferers), as well as advanced wall technology for improved insulation and lower energy bills. National and international rail connections are available from nearby Snodland, West Malling and Ashford stations.

A new Channel Tunnel Rail Link station under construction at nearby Ebbsfleet will make getting around even easier. It is estimated that the journey time into London will be reduced to approximately 15 minutes while a trip to Paris and Brussels will take approximately 2 hours 20 mins and 2 hours respectively.

A selection of one and two-bedroom apartments and three, four and five-bedroom houses are currently available at Birchleigh, the second phase at Holborough. Prices start from £160,000 for a one-bedroom apartment and from £250,000 for a three-bedroom, two-storey house.
