Waterstone Park Waterstone Park, the exclusive development in Greenhithe, Kent by Countryside Properties and Land Securities has been presented with a CABE Building for Life Silver Standard. This is the seventh Building for Life that Countryside Properties has received which is more than any other developer.

Building for Life is a joint initiative between CABE (The Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment) and the Home Builders Federation, supported by the Civic Trust, English Partnerships, the Housing Corporation and design for homes. The Building for Life Standard was launched by the Deputy Prime Minister in July 2003, and represents the national standard for good housing and neighbourhoods.

The judging panel, which included Building for Life chair, Wayne Hemingway, CABE Commissioner, Dickon Robinson and HBF executive chair Stewart Baseley, described Waterstone Park as ‘very brave and bold…a really interesting out of town development.’

Tony Travers, Subsidiary Managing Director for Countryside Properties, says: “We are delighted to have won this prestigious award. Receiving acclaim from the Government and housing industry shows that new developments in the Thames Gateway are of a very good design standard. It is also testament to both Countryside Properties and Land Securities commitment to delivery good quality, sustainable developments.”

The development offers a winning combination of impressive landscaping, great transport connections, convenient shopping and stylish architecture, far enough away from the pressures of city life, but with excellent facilities.
