Location, location, location for retired couple

Location, location, location for retired couple The verdure of East Kent held significant appeal for retired Londoners Alan Harris and Christine Chester who have a holiday home in Swalecliffe. So when they decided to move from their terrace home in South East London to the coast, Kent was their first choice. Although they had originally planned on moving to Canterbury, it was Westgate-on-Sea, which finally won them over, after finding the St Augustine’s Park development by award-winning house builder Millwood Designer Homes.

The couple has bought a three bedroom home at the scheme and as far as they were concerned it was the obvious choice as Alan comments:

“We saw lots of homes but once we had visited St Augustine’s Park there was no further discussion, it was perfect. As the first phase was sold out, we were shown the plans for the next phase of homes and fell in love with it. There is a nice mix, with each home having its own character.”

Alan continues: “It really is a case of location, location, location, as our new home is exactly what we wanted and where we wanted to be and there is just a lovely family atmosphere. The beach is just a 5 minute walk away, as is the centre of Westgate and the train station. There is also a bus stop right outside St Augustine’s Park, which goes to Broadstairs and the larger surrounding towns. Furthermore, London is easily accessible by road or rail, which is very convenient, as occasionally I have to travel into the city. We really couldn’t be happier and St Augustine’s Park just sells itself because of the quality of the home and its location.”

Roseanne Bullen, Sales Director Designate for Millwood Designer Homes, comments: “St Augustine’s Park is being heralded as the premier new address in Westgate-on-Sea and it is clear that Alan and Christine both agree. Brownfield land often occupies a prime location close to local amenities, while also providing access to good communication links and St Augustine’s Park is the perfect illustration. Furthermore, with the scheme being created in the grounds of the former St Augustine’s College, it has a Grade II listed building (now the St Augustine’s Conference Centre) providing a rare, yet beautiful backdrop.”

St Augustine’s Park is ideally situated for road and rail with the local train station in easy reach, offering a direct service to central London in approximately 2 hours, whilst the A299 (Thanet Way) and the M2 are just a short drive from the development.

Moreover, the specification at St Augustine’s Park is of an impeccable standard featuring designer fitted kitchens by James Theobald, expertly crafted to meet the needs of each individual home. The kitchen also benefits from a host of integrated appliances including a fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and double oven with gas hob. Luxury white suites from Ideal Standard are fitted to the en-suite, bathroom and cloakroom for a touch of contemporary elegance.

Prices for the homes at St Augustine’s Park start from £240,000. For further information visit the website at Mdh.uk.com.
