26th September 2007 Print
That’s the message from award-winning house builder Millwood Designer Homes who is to launch a new scheme in Harvel, near Meopham. With its outstanding reputation as a quality house builder of period influenced homes, news of the forthcoming development will be greeted with great enthusiasm.

The exquisite collection is called The Warren and will comprise of 11, four and five bedroom detached homes. In addition to the meticulous attention to detail of a Millwood home, purchasers will also have the opportunity to become the designer and create their perfect property with Millwood’s ‘Design and Build’ scheme. Sales Director Designate for Millwood Designer Homes, Roseanne Bullen explains:

“Homes in sought after villages like Harvel rarely enter the market and in addition to providing the opportunity for purchasers to sample this idyllic lifestyle for themselves, they can also bespoke the home to their needs. Many dream of building a home, but time constraints, spiralling costs, finding the perfect plot of land, or simply not knowing where to start can be off-putting. With our ‘Design and Build’ scheme we take away the headache and the legwork.”

Roseanne continues: “Working in conjunction with our designers, you can alter the layout, add balconies, or even add a wine cellar, the choice is yours and we can make it a reality. With interest anticipated to be high for homes at The Warren, I would advise purchasers to register their details as soon as possible.”

Many homebuyers have taken advantage of Millwood’s ‘Design and Build’ scheme, including Colin Ives and his family who used it to create an eco-friendly home at the company’s Westfield development in West Malling.

Colin explains: “Design and build’ is providing us with the opportunity to build a ‘green’ house and a greener future for our family. We are having a rainwater harvesting system and an underground source heat pump installed. The pump works by absorbing the heat found underground, which will be utilised to power and supply the underfloor heating, on every floor of our home. Although it is relatively expensive in the short term, I felt that the payback in the long term would be worthwhile and save us a fortune on our energy bills, especially as we are intent on staying here for a long time.”

Harvel is a small community with its own pub and cricket ground. Families will find several reputable schools close by, including Meopham Community Primary School, Cobham Hall School and Holmesdale Technology College. The larger village of Meopham is a little over a mile away and boasts amenities of its own, including two parks, a bakers, a pharmacy and a post office. Furthermore, there are several local pubs which serve excellent food or for international cuisine, head to the nearby towns of Maidstone and Sevenoaks.

Despite the rural environment, Harvel is well placed for communication links, with Meopham railway station easily accessible and offering services to London Victoria in 50 minutes. The A2 and M2 are situated to the north and the M26, M20 and A20 to the south providing easy access throughout the South-East and Gatwick Airport in approximately 45 minutes. Alternatively, London City Airport is just under 17 miles away.
