Rousing finale for Sittingbourne housing scheme

A massive ‘house warming’ party for first time buyers has marked the end of a nine-year housing venture in Sittingbourne, Kent. Developer Redrow invited owners of its innovative and affordable Debut properties to join them for a hog roast barbecue to celebrate making it onto the property ladder.

Caron Hutchins, sales manager for Redrow Homes (Eastern), says: “We had a great turn out of home owners, together with their families and friends, who were all very fulsome in their praise of Redrow in helping to make their home ownership dreams come true.

“It was also a great opportunity for a group of mostly young first time buyers, all in similar circumstances, to meet their neighbours and forge new friendships.”

Debut @ Sittingbourne offered first time buyers and others in search of an affordable home of their own the opportunity to get a foot on the housing ladder at prices between just £69,995 and £119,995, making them some of the most desirable and achievable properties in the south east.

In addition, purchasers were able to defer 10% of the initial purchase price for up to 10 years. This interest-free, fixed sum can be repaid in monthly instalments, occasional lump sums or in full at any time.

Celebrating the successful sale of the 100 one and two-bedroom Debut properties also marked the completion of a much larger Redrow venture in this part of Sittingbourne, off Staplehurst Road.

Over the last nine years 1,050 new homes have been built here, offering a wide range of new homes for everyone from first time buyers to families, empty nesters and investors. As well as the Debut scheme, most recently these included Redrow’s Kingfishers development of two-bedroom apartments and two, three and four-bedroom houses.

The edge of town location offers excellent access to the town itself and further afield via the M2 and M20 for commuters, as well as rail journeys to London from Sittingbourne of just over an hour.
