Visionary development looks to the future

28th May 2008 Print
Visionary development looks to the future Situated off the sought after Singlewell Road in Gravesend is a visionary development that will see the creation of a new community. The Southfields development by pioneering developers Hyde Vale and Moat is within the Thames Gateway Strategic Growth Corridor and is identified as a major development site.

Moreover, with the spectacular vision for this premier collection of homes, Southfields is set to become a truly remarkable new address.

The flagship scheme comprises 211 homes, which include one and two bedroom apartments and two, three, four and five bedroom houses that have been designed to achieve an EcoHomes rating of very good. The imposing entrance to Southfields is lined with grassed verges and mature cherry trees while at the heart of the development is the village green.

The eclectic collection is the vision of Hyde Vale together with Moat and leading London architects Pollard Thomas Edwards who designed the concept of Southfields. Teresa Borsuk, Director at Pollard Thomas Edwards comments:

“The focal point of Southfields is the central green. Centred around this we have placed The Crescent collection of homes, which are three storey townhouses inspired by the period architecture found in the Georgian parts of Gravesend, but given a contemporary twist. At either side of The Crescent are the apartments, which feature balconies that enjoy both a southerly aspect and magnificent views across the open space and newly landscaped meadow. All in all, the blend of traditional materials combined with contemporary architectural elements culminate in a visually diverse collection of homes and a visionary new development.”

In addition to the central green and the meadows, existing playing fields have been enhanced and include a full sized football pitch and two junior pitches, making Southfields fantastic for families.

Southfields is perfectly located for both families and professionals and is within walking and cycling distance of public transport and amenities. There are numerous schools within the area, which include Gravesend Grammar School for Girls and Gravesend Grammar School for Boys.

For commuters, Gravesend Railway station offers services to London Charing Cross in approximately 50 minutes, while nearby Ebbsfleet International has services to Paris and in 2009 will offer high speed services to London St Pancras in 17 minutes. By road, Southfields is close to the A2, which provides links to the M2 and the M25, while Bluewater is also less than 7 miles away.

The homes at Southfields are priced from £239,950. For further information contact the Sales Office and Show Home, which is open Thursday to Monday from 10am till 5pm. Alternatively, visit the website at Southfieldsliving.co.uk.
