One very unique new home in Maidstone

21st July 2008 Print
One very unique new home in Maidstone Holborough near Maidstone, Kent, is a coveted new homes development due to the 10 different house designs on offer, yet there is only one Newport house type across the whole of the current development. Interested parties can now take a tour of the fully dressed Newport to see how this home could work for them.

The Newport is a truly unique five-bedroom family home – the only one of its kind at Berkeley Homes (Kent) Ltd’s flagship development. Like the other homes on the scheme, The Newport displays New England-inspired architecture, with white-coloured weatherboarding, a timber porch and a white picket fence around the property. Adding to its character is The Newport’s totally symmetrical design.

Set over three floors, each level of The Newport has a strong identity that works perfectly for families. The ground floor is dedicated to living and eating. The open plan kitchen/dining room has a fully fitted kitchen with appliances and enough room for a dining table. The family room is of equal size, and both rooms have patio doors leading out on to the garden.

The first floor is the adult zone. To one side of the house is a master bedroom complete with an en-suite bathroom, with the other side of the house being bedroom two – a very large space that would be ideal as a guest bedroom. The second floor of The Newport boasts three bedrooms, one of which has an en-suite, as well as the family bathroom. This floor would be ideal to hand over to the kids, as there’s enough room and bathrooms to keep even the biggest of broods happy.

The garden is unusually large for a new build property, and Berkeley Homes has turfed the rear space so while the parents are busy unpacking the boxes, the children can head straight for the grass for a game of football. The house has also been carpeted throughout, so the property really is ready to move in to. Families who want to house a car and have extra storage options will love the Newport’s garage, with the added bonus of a parking space in front of the garage.

Piers Clanford, Managing Director at Berkeley Homes (Kent) Ltd, comments: “Not only is The Newport the only one of its kind at Holborough, it’s the only detached house on the current phase that benefits from two en-suite bathrooms. When you couple this with the garage, allocated parking and the garden, it really is the perfect family home.”

Holborough is the transformation of a former quarry into approximately 1,200 new homes. Accommodation on offer ranges from one and two-bedroom apartments to two, three, four and five-bedroom houses, each with New England-inspired architecture. Each home in the current phases of Holborough– Birchleigh and The Boulevard – benefits from Super E technology. This technology uses air filtration to clean incoming air of dust and pollen particles, which helps those suffering from hay fever and asthma. Super E also produces airtight homes where warm air can leak from. This results in a naturally warmer home, less need for central heating and reduced monthly fuel bills.
