Ward Homes launches low-cost home ownership offer in Ashford

It's Independence Day because Ward Homes will be promoting a new low-cost home ownership scheme, MyChoiceHomeBuy, which makes buying a property more affordable for first time buyers. From 11am to 4pm prospective purchasers are invited down to a barbeque at Origins, where there will be the opportunity to discuss the MyChoiceHomeBuy scheme and view the new homes.
MyChoiceHomeBuy enables buyers to own their own home from as little as 50 per cent of the purchase price. This is specially designed to help key workers, and existing tenants of housing associations and local councils. It will also be attractive to those living with parents or renting due to high property values. The scheme is available for households with an income of between £20,000 and £60,000. There is no deposit to pay and there is a £1,500 contribution towards moving costs from Ward Homes.
Origins comprises eight one-bedroom, nine two-bedroom and four three-bedroom houses. Each is beautifully appointed for contemporary living with kitchens designed and fitted out by specialists, concealed work surface lighting and ceiling downlighters. Kitchen finishes, doors and worktops have been selected from the Ward Homes' range and a variety of appliances are included. Bathrooms and cloakrooms have ceramic wall tiling and all homes have gardens and residents' parking areas.
As you would expect from a development which won a Gold award in the Green Homes category of the Hot Property New Homes Awards earlier this year, Origin's eco-credentials are outstanding. All the homes are well insulated and incorporate energy-saving lighting, low-E double glazing and draught proofing to exceed current building regulations. Acoustic insulation is to a similar standard. There are a number of water saving features such as restrictors on taps and rain water butts for garden use. There is provision for natural clothes drying, to minimise energy use, and there is storage for bicycles.
Prices at Origins, which is located in Falcon Way, Ashford, TN23 5UP, start at £130,000 for a one-bedroom property, however with MyChoiceHomeBuy the property can effectively be bought for as little as £65,000. For more information, log on to Wardhomes.co.uk.
