Industry award for Barratt townhouses in Sittingbourne Barratt Kent's radically designed ‘eScape' townhouse, located at Eden Village in Sittingbourne, has scooped yet another prestigious industry award. It has been honoured in the hotly contested Best House category of the What House? Awards, one of the most respected symbols of excellence in the housebuilding industry.

The award was presented to Nick Fenton, Managing Director of Barratt Kent, at a gala event held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in Mayfair on Friday, 21st November.

This is the fifth major award for eScape this year. In the Mail on Sunday British Homes Awards 2008 it won the top Best Small House award and was Highly Commended in the Interior Design category. It was also Highly Commended at the Evening Standard New Homes Awards for the Best Family Home and recently picked up a LEAF award, one of the world's most prestigious prizes for architecture.

The eScape townhouse was originally designed by London architects PCKO for a national architectural competition seeking a 21st century take on the townhouse. The What House? judging panel of industry experts praised its "new ideas and flexible space" as "an excellent example of what can be achieved."

All the eScape townhouses at Eden Village have now been sold, but a range of other high quality three, four and five bedroom family homes is available for sale at this attractive development close to Sittingbourne town centre. The homes are priced from £224,995.

Purchasers with an existing home to sell can take advantage of a Part Exchange arrangement, saving time, hassle and estate agent fees. In addition, a mortgage subsidy of up to £1,000 per month until January 2010 is offered.
