Baby Alexa becomes Blenheim Court's youngest resident First-time buyers Alex Barr and Reisha Dodds found their ideal family home at George Wimpey's Blenheim Court development in Hawkinge - just in time for the arrival of their baby, Alexa.

Electrician Alex (22) and Reisha (21) had been due to buy a two-bedroom home in Deal in Kent this summer, but when the purchase fell through they were left looking for a new place - with their first child's birth only days away.

"We had to start our search again quickly, and found that for the same money as the two-bedroom house we had looked at, we could buy a brand new three-bedroom ‘Alpha' housetype at Blenheim Court. One of the funny little finishing touches which also made the George Wimpey design stand out is that it has a store cupboard for the vacuum cleaner!" says Reisha.

Alexa arrived after a 57-hour labour, just five days before Reisha and Alex moved in to their new home. She's already enjoying having her own ‘nursery', while the happy couple, who plan to wed in 2010, have the spacious master bedroom with en-suite bathroom.

"I really like the layout of our home," adds Reisha, "When the sun shines it bathes the lounge and dining room in light. But the kitchen is my favourite - it came with fitted units, cooker and tiling, and it's where I spend a lot of my time these days, as a mum!

"We also love the area - especially the new community centre just around the corner where they hold lots of different activities for mums and babies. I can even go there to get Alexa weighed. Alex and I plan to stay here and have more children, and with two village schools close by, it's the ideal place to raise a family."

Customers have a choice of three-bedroom homes at Blenheim Court priced from £189,995, including the ‘Eridge' design which features a large lounge, a separate dining room with French doors to the rear garden, a well-proportioned kitchen and a cloakroom off the entrance hallway.

Upstairs, the landing leads to three double bedrooms with an en-suite to the master bedroom, and a main bathroom.

Like all new homes at the development, the three-bedroom homes are ideal for young families and benefit from central heating, double glazing and a fitted kitchen with built-in oven, hob and hood.

Hawkinge offers a relaxed lifestyle with local shops and community facilities, and is within easy reach of Folkestone, Canterbury and Ashford.

For children, the village has two primary schools, while the area boasts a good range of secondary schools and sixth forms. Commuters will appreciate that the M20 is just a few minutes' drive from Blenheim Court, while a direct train service runs between Folkestone and London. The ferry ports of Folkestone and Dover, together with the Channel Tunnel, put Continental Europe within easy reach.

Customers reserving a home can take advantage of George Wimpey's ‘easymover' programme, offering special incentives on selected properties including support for first time buyers - while customers with a house to sell can reserve their new home and then sit back and relax while the housebuilder helps to find a buyer for their current property.

Incentives can be tailored to homebuyers' circumstances and are subject to availability. Further details are available from the Sales Executive.
